May 18th Newsletter: A Fun Saturday Spent in Our Community

A Message from your Market Manager

Thanks for your cheers of support as we walked the St. Johns Parade route last Saturday. We appreciate everyone who visited us at the Bazaar, asked questions about the upcoming season, signed-up to receive the newsletter or volunteer and told us just how excited they are for opening day of the market, on June 2nd.

I’d like to give a special thanks to the St. Johns Farmers Market Board for all of the hard work they have been putting in during the off-season, and their coordination of the parade and Bazaar set-up.                   ~ Gentiana Loeffler, Market Manager

Volunteer Corner

We could use folks to help behind the scenes and in preparation for opening day. We’re moving from our winter storage to the POD this Saturday morning at 8 am. Meet us at St. Johns Storage on Lombard St to lend a hand, or contact volunteer@sjfarmersmarket.com for more information.

Portland Culinary Workshop Fundraiser – Friday, June 22nd

Support the St. Johns Farmers Market and take a class with the ladies from Portland’s Culinary Workshop on Friday, June 22nd. This hands-on class will feature ingredients from your favorite market vendors. Create a delicious, seasonal meal, hear from some of the vendors and sit down with everyone to relish in the amazing food you made. All proceeds will go towards the St. Johns Farmers Market.  Visit Portland’s Culinary Workshop online to sign up!

May 3rd Newsletter: Opening Day is Saturday, June 2nd

A Message from your Market Manager

It is only a matter of weeks now until the opening day of the St. Johns Farmers
Market on Saturday, June 2nd. The excitement is palpable at every board meeting,
in every conversation as we prepare for our fourth season of bringing our neighbors
and friends the best produce, agricultural products, entertainment and educational
opportunities that our community has to offer. In the coming weeks the St. Johns
Farmers Market will be getting out a lot: walking in the St. Johns Parade, tabling
at the St. Johns Bizarre, hanging market posters in our neighborhood businesses
and gathering spaces, and making final preparations in the plaza. We encourage you
to join us. Come out to lend a hand or show your support, or just ask us about the
upcoming season. We have so many exciting things to share!
